pet bereavement companion

Losing a dog is not a small thing.

This work is quiet, steady support at a time that can feel anything but.

For a lot of people, it is one of the most significant relationships in their life.

And when that’s gone, or about to be, it can feel overwhelming, confusing, and very lonely.

I offer calm, one to one support for people navigating pet loss.

Whether something is coming, has just happened, or still doesn’t feel settled, you do not have to carry it on your own.

For many people, this is not just losing a pet. It is losing a relationship that shaped daily life.

HOw I can Support you

You might come to this work at different points.

Before a loss, when decisions are approaching
In the days or weeks after, when everything feels raw
Later on, when things still feel unsettled

All of that is welcome here.

You do not need to decide in advance what kind of support you need.

You will not be rushed, corrected, or told how you should feel.

sessions

Sessions are calm, private, and structured enough to hold what feels messy.

You do not need to prepare anything.
You do not need to have the right words.

We start where you are.

1:1 support sessions

A calm, private space to talk through what has happened, what you are feeling, and what feels hard right now.

Pre loss support

For when you know something is coming.

This might look like:

Trying to understand quality of life
Facing euthanasia decisions
Feeling stuck between “too soon” and “too late”
Carrying guilt before anything has even happened

We talk through what is in front of you, without rushing you to a decision.

After loss support

For the hours, days, and weeks after a loss.

This is often the hardest part.

The quiet. The second guessing. The sudden absence.

You might need somewhere to:

Talk through what happened
Untangle guilt or doubt
Make sense of how you are feeling
Work out what comes next

There is no expectation to be “coping well”.

Family support

For households navigating loss together.

This can include:

Supporting children
Different people grieving in different ways
Tension or misunderstanding after a loss

Sometimes it helps to have someone neutral hold that space.

How it works

All sessions are 60 minutes and priced the same.

You can come to a session before a loss, after a loss, or while things are still unfolding.

You do not need to decide that in advance. We start where you are.

Step one
You book a session or get in touch

Step two
We meet online or in person and talk through your situation at your pace

Step three
You leave with space, clarity, and support for what comes next

There is no pressure to commit to anything ongoing.

Some people need one conversation. Others come back for a few sessions.

important to know

This is companion support.

It is not counselling, therapy, or crisis care.

If you need support from a qualified mental health professional, I will always be honest about that and help you find the right place.

I work in a relationship led way, with a strong focus on the human animal bond and what these relationships actually mean in people’s lives.

This part of my work exists because pet loss is often minimised, when in reality it can be one of the most significant losses someone experiences.

You will not be judged here for how much this matters to you.

If something has happened, or you know something is coming, you can reach out.

You do not need to have this figured out.

Tell me a little about what is going on and I will guide you from there.
