GAP gives you and your dog a clear goal with, structured training and assessment theough the Gundog Trainers Academy’s Gundog Assessment Programme.
TRAINING WITH A PURPOSE
You don't need to work your dog on a shoot.
You don’t need competition ambitions.
And you do not need to commit to all six GAP levels.
GAP is simply a way to take the gundog skills you are already building and give them somewhere to go.
You train the exercises. You develop them over time.
And when you are ready you can work towards the assessment.
More than just a class.
GAP stands for Gundog Assessment Programme.
It is a six level programme created by the Gundog Trainers Academy, beginning with Foundation at Levels 1 and 2 before progressing through Enhanced and Graduate levels.
For anyone who has heard me talk about Gundog Grades in the past, GAP gives us a structured progression and assessment.

FOUNDATION GAP
Levels One and Two
Foundation is where the core skills are built.
The exercises are designed to give you a strong base before more distance, distraction and complexity are added later.
Your sessions will focus on the exercises you and your dog need rather than simply working through the same lesson everytime.
This may include retrieving, steadiness, heelwork, recall, hunting and the other skills required within the Foundation levels.
The exact work depends on the dog in front of me.

EXISTING CLIENTS
You get first go.
For now, Foundation GAP sessions are only availiable to clients who previous completed gundog training with me.
You already know how I train.
And I already know something about you and your dog.
So rather than automatically starting everything again, we can look at the skills you already have and work out what needs developing towards your first GAP assessment.
This could suit you if…
You have previously done gundog training with Ricochet, either in a class or 1:1 sessions
You would like a clearer goal for your training
You enjoy working on gundog skills but have no intention of working on a shoot
You want to see how far you and your dog can progress
You would like to work towards a formal assessment rather than simply attending another course
You do not need to decided now whether you want to go beyond Level One or Two.
